Hello. Thank you for your invitation to report problems.,
I am trying to mount a SanDisk multi-card reader:
ImageMate 8 in 1
model number SDDR - 88
part number: 20-90-00114
It has a USB connection. It is recognized as sdb (per messages below).
But I try
[root@m60 ~]# mount -t vfat -o exec -o rw -o suid -o user -o
uid=andy -o gid=andy -o umask\000 -o dmask\000 /dev/sdb /mnt/usbstick
which returns
mount: special device /dev/sdb does not exist
Do you have any ideas? I do of course have a win machine on the network
and can mount it there, but I would like to experience every opportunity
to nuke windows...
Kind regards, Andy

Andy,
I believe that you need to specify the partition. I use fdisk to find the
partition map of the device, but there probably is a better way.
You might want to blindly try /dev/sdb1 to see if it works.
Regards,
Erik.
