Unwanted devices in udev?

Unwanted devices in udev?

Hey, just a quick qustion. I'm using Kanotix 2005-04 RC12, which is a 
Debian based distro with the newst version of udev preinstalled. But 
what I want to know is, where exactly dose the udev entry called 
settings:/ point to in KDE on my computer? There are too few options 
there for my liking - and I would like to know how to add more?

Also how do I prevent unwanted devices (such as swap and possibly /boot) 
from being loaded in media:/? It really bugs me (and is a potential 
security risk) to have devices mounted that I don't need.

Any advice would be welcome.

Mounting usually happens at the desktop level not with udev.
You may better ask the guys who make that distro.

Erm just to clarify, are you saying that the devices in media:/ aren't being created by udev?

If not then I have misunderstood the purpose (or at least part of the purpose) of udev.

No, udev just creates the device nodes, what it is expected to do.
What your desktop is doing with the actual devices is out of the scope
of udev.

Sure, udev reflects the current kernel device state in /dev, and manages
the events the kernel sends to userspace. But it's not involved in anything
that offers devices in a GUI to the user.

The part of your desktop, that handles storage device policy, needs to
be fixed - don't know what's running on your distro...
