If I understand Jody's proposal correctly, libraw could transparently
try to send those requests through the extra
/dev/bus/ieee1394/${bus}/${nodeID} devices if available. An udev helper
should become aware of IIDC compliant units and adjust node permissions
according to local policy, on the fly.
