what kind of device is that? a pci card? will you find the
device in the /sys/ tree? and does it have a "dev" file at
some node?
once you found it, udevinfo can be used to get information about it,
which can be used for writing rules. for example
udevinfo -a -p /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb1/usbdev1.1_ep00/dev
(all in one line) shows me the properties of my usb host controller.
google for "writing udev rules", a HOWTO document with good explanations
how it is done.
