The short answer for me was: turn off Intel Virtualization Technology in BIOS. I will be doing testing this weekend to attempt to isolate the offending module. Thanks for all the help I got in #udev. Kay's suggestion to enable debugging and turn off asynchronous processing helped me to eliminate udev as the source of the failure. Cheers Mark "Zanberdo" Zanfardino
