"Line too long" message for comments?

"Line too long" message for comments?

Hi list,

udev-0.96 complains about too long lines when reading overlong comments. I
think it would be nicer if comments were just skipped.

Please reply by PM if necessary since I am not on this list.

Yeah, it would be nicer, but hey, how can you write 512 chars of comment
without any line-break in a udev rules file? :)

It wasn't me (I know, you hear this all the time...) - it is an
auto-generated comment by the sane-desc tool of sane-backends 1.0.18 that
is IIRC about 570 bytes long. Just a list | of | scanner | model | names.

Just have a look at the rules file from sane to see how they manage to
do that...
