Subject: the troublesome spawn of demons
Date: Mon, 03 Jun 2002 13:30:28 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <marc-linux-hotplug-102311108828888@msgid-missing> (raw)

Hi,

looking at the swsuspend code, it seems that there's a
race with hotplugging.

The swsuspend code assumes that by stopping all tasks except for
zombies and kernel threads it will assure that no new tasks are spawned.
This is not true as far as hotplugging is concerned.
Comments ?

Perhaps we should introduce an r/w spinlock and register a
power management handler to take it?

	Regards
		Oliver
