Never said it wasn't an issue ... just pointed out an assumption that optimizing for hundreds/thousands of events per second was the wrong way to go. Most systems don't have that many events in an entire day, except maybe when they reboot. Systems that are "under-powered" have other tools available, like having /sbin/hotplug be a custom C program.
