Hello,

When using kernel 2.4.22 and hotlug from debian unstable (and
probably all versions before) I am not able to use joysticks
properly.

A USB Joystick is recognized by hotplug as HID device. All
Modules except the joydev module are loaded. If I modprobe joydev
by hand everything works as expected.

Since I don't understand how hotplug identifies usb devices
using distmap/handmap etc I cannot create a patch.

Regards

The recent input hotplug patches should help you out. See if the cvs
tree version of the hotplug scripts solve this for you or not.

thanks,
