Is there a file named "vendor" for your disc in /sys?
If yes, what is in there?
You are missing the number replacement, otherwise only your disk
will be named and not the partitions:
NAME="usb_disk%n"

There is no namedev.config in 008, it was renamed to
udev.config in 005 and later to udev.rules.

Thats the default, no rule is matching.
Please make sure, as mentioned above if the kernel is exporting the file
"vendor" what you are trying to match against.
Please try:
REPLACE, KERNEL="sda*", NAME="usb_disk%n"
This works only for the first scsi-device, but we can see if udev is working.

You can try "make DEBUG=true" an look at udev's debug in your syslog,
while connecting the disc.

Odds are you need to make 2 changes:
- your device really is not on the "usb" bus, it's on the scsi
bus. So you need to change the BUS="usb" to BUS="scsi". We
now actually check that value.
- you need to change the NAME rule to put the device partition
number in the name. This is done with the "%n" modifier.
So the rule should probably be:
LABEL, BUS="scsi", vendor="IC25N020", NAME="usb_disk%n"
Let us know if that works or not.

Thanks, the "scsi" did it (I had alredy added the %n).
But tell me, I understand the hardware SCSI emulation that is going on here),
but how do you determine that this is a SCSI device, when there are
pointers up and over into PCI from both /sysfs/bus/usb/drivers and
/sysfs/bus/scsi/drivers for the same device?

What does the device link from the block device point to? A scsi
device, right? That's what we are caring about, not the individual
devices along the usb to scsi device chain.
