BTW: What action is this hotplug call supposed to accomplish?

When I load the 3c59x driver by hand (the hotplug
"add" hotplug event isn't loading the driver),
this "register" hotplug process kicks off. However,
it doesn't do anything I can determine, like
run "ifup eth0".
