I doubt anyone on the list is following exchanges of enormous email messages, but please let me know if you want to continue to be cc'ed. I don't think Oliver has found a problem with the algorithm that I posted (which would involve little kernel code if any), but I imagine one of us will post a summary of our discussion when it concludes.
