Subject: usbutils essential?
Date: Tue, 10 Apr 2001 19:02:17 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <marc-linux-hotplug-98694042027234@msgid-missing> (raw)

What exactly is the relationship of usbutils to the current
hotplug release? Is it really essential for hotplugging to work?
I ask because I have a linuxppc machine running Linux 2.4.4pre1
which won't load the usb print module upon sensing my Epson 740i
(attached via usb) unless I have usbutils installed? I ask because
redhat's version of hotplug doesn't seem to work at all in this
regard. However they also don't have usbutils as part of rawhide
either. Thanks in advance for any clarifications.
                    Jack
