Subject: udev permissions on startup
Date: Sat, 19 Jun 2004 13:33:03 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <opr9ufxda0clpe2l@laptop> (raw)
Hi all,
Can someone explain this to me. When my laptop boots up, the devices in
the /dev/sound have permissions of 0600, and hence users in the audio
group can't access the devices, if I then run udevstart from the command
line after bootup, the correct permissions of 0660 are set.
I am using udev027, on a gentoo box, without saving the devices and the
/dev/ directory mounted on a ramfs.
See below.
laptop root # ls -l /dev/sound

crw------- 1 root audio 14, 12 Jun 19 15:21 adsp
