* udev permissions on startup

Hi all,

Can someone explain this to me. When my laptop boots up, the devices in  
the /dev/sound have permissions of 0600, and hence users in the audio  
group can't access the devices, if I then run udevstart from the command  
line after bootup, the correct permissions of 0660 are set.

I am using udev027, on a gentoo box, without saving the devices and the  
/dev/ directory mounted on a ramfs.
