I have been having an SMTP issue causing e-mail from kernel.org
(amongst others) to not get delivered to me for some time. I just
figured it out yesterday, and got flooded almost immediately with all
the stray notifications. This is why.

Definitely. Your advice was probably better than mine. Shame on me, I
really should know better tricks by now :(
