Message-Id: List-Id: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: linux-ia64@vger.kernel.org Eric and lists, ftp://ftp.caldera.com/pub/ia64/ I've just released an early alpha of OpenLinux ia64. Here is the readme from the ftp site: ftp://ftp.caldera.com/pub/ia64/20000804/20000804ia64col.txt This is an early access alpha release of Caldera OpenLinux for ia64 There are a number of issues with this release: o There is no toolchain included. This will be included in the next release o PAM seems non-functional. This also will be fixed in the next release o The installation uses a shell script. Lisa (text menus) and Lizard (the Caldera graphical installer) should be included in a furture release. This is not likely to happen in the next release. o There is no web page yet for information and updates o There us no mailing list for support yet. o X is not functioning. This is likely to be included in the next release, but a working toolchain is higher on the priority list. o This has only been tested on Intel SDV systems. If you are a hardware vendor, you can send me free hardware anytime. ;-) Thanx for DLing and testing this early alpha! Please contact me directly for any support issues. Watch this text file for updated info. Tim Riker -- Tim Riker - http://rikers.org/ - short SIGs! All I need to know I could have learned in Kindergarten ... if I'd just been paying attention.
