It doesn't look like my discontig patch will fix it.  I'll try to send
out a patch to fix arch/ia64/Kconfig and drivers/acpi/Kconfig shortly...

DISCONTIGMEM, NUMA, and ACPI_NUMA have to be turned on automatically for
generic kernels...
