It still needs a lot of cleanup and some bugfixes, but I'm going out on
sabbatical for the next three weeks, so I thought I'd post this patch in
case anyone's interested in running 2.6 on an Altix box.

You'll need to apply this patch and the headless node patch I just sent
out, along with a few others that have already been merged into various
trees but aren't in Linus' tree yet.

This patch is against Linus' bitkeeper tree as of a few hours ago.
