I am preparing to install test kernels on this box, and it would be helpful if there are any peculiarities with compaq's. I thought that newer kernels were backward compatible with the pentium I series cpu. Also, can anyone point me to open source documentation on pci bridge commands, and bus mastering, and extending the interrupt range past 256 slots, and general pci commands. Can devices be remapped at the bus level below the operating system? and can the pinouts be revectored on the cables, and onboard parallel and serial lines. and slots on mboard and info on pci-isa bridge. thanks very much. regards, Paul
