Now about the debug kernel: There was no such option CONFIG_DEBUG_PREEMPT at first, as my model was=20 "Voluntary Kernel Preemption (Desktop)"(hangs were on such compiled=20 kernels), then i switched to "Preemptible Kernel (Low-Latency Desktop)"= , enabled all this options, and compiled the kernel, but it refused to=20 work - blank screen from the beginning, even not "Decompressing Linux=20 =2E..". I succeed to run this kernel on a virtual machine, but it refus= es=20 to run on the "buggy machine" - "this kernel"=3D"the same binary". Then= =20 switched this option back,to try if this kernel run. If it is vital to=20 be "Preemptible Kernel (Low-Latency Desktop)" , i will try to do it=20 again, but now i switched to "Voluntary Kernel Preemption (Desktop)"=20 enabled the option you require, compilled kernel, and then interesting=20 thing happened - every time when i do "make modules_install" - the=20 machine hangs at some arbitrary point, during the process of modules=20 installation, with "kernel pannic" - i saved few such messages, and=20 will put it below. Then i thought it could be some bad blocks (recently= i have checked this HDD with badblocks - it is fine). But it is not the=20 case - i can read all the directory with "find /usr/src/linux -type f |= =20 xargs md5sum), and can make big file as "dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3Dfile bs= =3D512M cound=3D2"(the size of /lib/modules/3.5.2 after hang vary from few kb,= to ~400Mb). Then i passed "nosmp" at boot time - the same picture, but=20 when i enabled swap, it managed to install the modules ! So the kernel=20 debug is running for 1.5 hour, without hang,=A0 with all option you=20 require, except CONFIG_DEBUG_PREEMPT. And when i did again "make=20 modules_install" twice, it crashed during the second. I log on this=20 machine trough internet, and it disappeared after the last crash,=20 probably before "make modules_install" manage to install LAN driver, i=20 suppose, and will be able to continue this tests just tomorow. So i hav= e no "couple" oopses, but 1 i have.
