OK, thanks for testing.
The conclusion here is that the problem experienced by Yarema
is clearly some libata regression wrt drivers/ide.

Adding "blacklist pata_pdc2027xx" line to /etc/modprobe.conf should do this.
You may also want to bring up this problem with Ubuntu developers.
