Subject: problem with Marvell 88SE9215
Date: Wed, 1 Nov 2017 03:24:25 -0400 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <39527981-140a-d85e-7b12-9013230b06dd@gmail.com> (raw)
Hello,
On 2012 I bought a PCI-E 4 SATA 6.0Gbps Syba SI-PEX40064 which comes
with a Marvell chipset 88SE9215. This card seems not being supported yet
in Linux kernel; it behaves bad on some circumstances that aren't clear
to me. I experience some errors with hard drives and optical drives.
Never it writes optical media.
My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-A75-UD4H. I can't write optical media and
sometimes reading/writing to hard disks is slow and faulty.
I've disabled the Native Command Queue and also I've forced the speed of
all ATA controllers to 1.5Gbps. There is no difference. The problem
persists.
If I can help improving something I'll do whatever steps necessary to
provide debug information to the kernel developers and apply kernel patches.
Thanks in advance,
All the best
Emilio.
