Almost a year ago, Jeff Garzik posted a patch from VIA which adds
support for PATA in VT6421 (sata_via driver):

There was a very brief discussion about it, but nothing more.
There were some major changes between 2.6.17 and 2.6.18:
-#define DRV_VERSION "1.1"
+#define DRV_VERSION "2.0"
and VIA's patch no longer applies (however, it looks it shouldn't be
that hard to correct it).
What's the status of sata_via and VT6421 PATA support?
