I would like to run 520 Bytes disk in native mode.
What changes I have to run in sg driver ?
Is there any kernel already adapted for 520 bytes sector size ?
Thanks

Linux does not support 520-byte sectors unless the drive is formatted
with DIF and hanging off a DIF-capable HBA.

Is that true even with sg - I wouldn't have thought sg minded, it doesn't
seem to mind about strange sized transfers for CD-ROM ?

Did not work last I mucked with it a while back. If I recall correctly
there were a few places where we assumed multiples of 512.

..
The ATA READ_LONG and WRITE_LONG commands both use 520 byte sectors,
and both work with libata.

I see , but aren't all the commands (including FPDMA) , shoudl work in
520 mode , when the disk is formatted to 520 ?

Some high-end storage disks are formatted to sectors of 520.
They save the payload with the DIF .
This is the disk I have.
Thanks
