After a magic sysrq reboot, I had some things in my logs that sounded like it failed to suspend, leaving the system still running, but the video output also died causing my monitor to power down. It also seemed to cause my wayland server to hang so the keyboard caps lock key wouldn't respond. I started bisecting last night then after a few steps, realized I wasn't testing the right kernel because grub defaulted to loading the highest kernel version number rather than the most recently built one, so I had to start over.
