I tested this patch on IBM Intellistation M Pro with Quantum GoVault
(kernel 2.6.18-rc4),
it works fine !

SATA controller is configured to "Compatible" mode.
Intel Corporation 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family) Serial ATA Storage
Controllers cc=IDE (rev 01)
