yes, the simplest way is define additional adc_cap structure for 
different compatible string.
like following:

     { .compatible = "atmel,at91sam9260-adc", .data 
=&at91sam9260-adc-caps },
     { .compatible = "atmel,at91sam9x5-adc", .data =&at91sam9x5-adc-caps },
     {},
};

Then we can define the capability for different chip very easy.
