Hello,
I've found those 3 patches on input patchwork:

The entries don't state if they will get accepted or rejected.
Especially the first one changes the behavior as most encoders do work.
Can somebody put a few lines about the current state?

I was waiting for Daniel's response. I can see that the 3rd one could be
useful but needs some cleaning up.
