Variables assigned with ":=" can be changed like this:
$ cat Makefile
FOO := fisk
$(info FOO=$(FOO))
all:
@:
$ FOO=bar make
FOO=fisk
$ make FOO=bar
FOO=bar
The first is the same as using an environment variable.
The latter is a special make syntax.
