You can't use the 0.8final patch (AFAIK) for 2.2. There is only a
0.8i patch for 2.2 avaliable from Heinz. You can get something like
0.8 final from the SuSE kernel sources, and I'm working on updating
2.2 LVM to match what's in the 2.4 kernel.
