Hi,
pvscan fails to recognize lvm1 metadata, causing an unbootable
system. I have 2 LVM partitions, sending data for each, along with
detaild pvscan output.

Hey Bastian - I'm seeing this too. The attached patch lets me scan and
activate format1 volumes. This has not been tested extensively, so it may not
be the correct fix, but it's something to get people going again. See if it
fixes things for you - or the people you're getting reports from.
Again - this is an experimental patch - please treat it with caution.
Regards,

That's a correct patch.
There's another patch needed for lvcreate (see CVS).
Note that this was an internal error that should not have affected
on-disk metadata. [An assertion designed to avoid corrupt metadata
reaching disk.]

version=3.0.4
Package: lvm2
Version: 2.01.12-2
Followup-For: Bug #315339
Installing new lvm2 makes stripped VG unrecognizable.
Downgrading lvm2 back to 2.01.04-5 fixes the problem.
# vgdisplay lvmg
LV backup: inconsistent LE count 1832 != 3662
Internal error: LV segments corrupted in backup.
Volume group "lvmg" doesn't exist
Attached is the /etc/lvm/backup/lvmg config file for the group.
