Hello,
Is LVM2 available on upstream kernel?
If so, where is the source located in the tree?
If not, can anyone share with me if there is any efforts going on to make this happen?
Thank you,
Seokmann

LVM2 is a purely user space application - there are no kernel components
to LVM itself. Instead, it uses the general device-mapper framework to
manage mapped devices. This is part of the mainline 2.6 kernel (you'll
find the code in the drivers/md directory in the kernel sources).
LVM2 sources are available here:
http://sourceware.org/lvm2/
Kind regards,
Bryn.

Thank you for the feedback, Bryn.
For some reason, I don't get the emails even though the option for it has been turned on in my account.
sorry for any convenience in regards to this and I'm working with administrator for this matter.
I'm trying to figure out how the LVM2 is working. Especially, how the LVM2 communicates with those kernel modules and sets up the volumes.
I've went through the document at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/ and it helped me in figuring out what is LVM2 in general.
Now, before I look at the actual source, I would like to see if there is any other document that I could go through to expedite my learning speed.
Any comments would be welcomed.
Regards,
Seokmann

You have the 'digest' option enabled. I've turned it off for you.
