Add "a|/dev/mapper/mpath.*|" to the filter= line of your lvm.conf as such.

filter = [ "a|/dev/sda2|", "a|/dev/mapper/mpath.*|", "r/.*/" ]

Then make sure your types= variable has device-mapper in it.

 types = [ "device-mapper", 1 ]

That should be all you need.
