Nah, I'll keep 'make install' simple, so it'll keep the '(unreleased)'
watermark. So if someone installs from git, they'll have
'(unreleased)'. However, the tarballs will have the git-describe(1)
version from which they were generated, and so a `make install` from a
tarball will be different.
