Yes, I have had a similar problem with Ubuntu Natty 2.6.38-10

The solution is to rminstall using the old media_build before installing
the latest media_build. Otherwise, you will have to reinstall the latest
Ubuntu kernel.

For some reason an old dvb-usb(or dependants) module isn't being removed
with the latest media_build.
