i can confirm that:
1- i tried free-to-air, non-encrypted channels, still no sound (i
mean, som meaningless/strange sounds is heard), and no (meaningless,
mixed) video, this seems like, a codec problem, or i may mis placed
some *.ko files... i am not sure, if you know, you may suggest which
files to place where...

2- i also tested freetoair, non-encrypted radio chnnels, but no result.

i cannot confirm that:
i dont know if i have a mpeg-2 decoder.. how may i check, and what do
i need to install ?

agai may i ask:
1- is make install problem solved for ubuntu ? it does not work out of box...

2- is there a schedule for other inputs of fm a700 card ?

Note:
i worked for this card to work so much because, i plan to produce a
set-top-box in my region, and i will produce many of them once i get
success... any help is welcome... we may also make a business
agreement with whoever wants, regarding linux/video subjects...

thanks..
Bahattin,

Strange. I'm afraid I can't help you regarding where to install the modules
in Ubuntu, as I use Gentoo, but I know (by other threads in this list) that
this question is somewhat problematic due to the special way Ubuntu handles
kernel modules.

Regarding the audio / video problems: could you please be a little more
specific about what you are getting? I mean, ¿are you definitely getting any
audio or video results (even if erroneous) coming from the card?

Hello,

to my mind your card _should_ work.
I'm using a DVB-S Hybrid+FM A700 card with zzam's driver since version
20080204 without any problems on vanilla kernels 2.6.* and Gentoo-patched
kernels. So I'm able to watch freeTV and listen to DVB-S-radio (Astra).

Did you ever thought of building your own, fresh vanilla-kernel from the
sources?

Regards
Peter

thanks, this is the only valid rule here :)

bvidinli, you can't file bugs against us from ubuntix.

Hallo,

my tip was really meant as tip. I knew the problems which occur
from "non-standard"-directories from my first SuSE-experiences.
If you want to build your own vanilla-kernel and need help, please drop me a
note.

May I ask, which hardware are you using? If I'm copying lots of files, I'm
loosing the picture too...

Regards
Peter
