by garbling i meant that part of the mail vanished and it lacks sense in the middle (around the '\' character). gaah,

doh! i never thought of that :]

i'll have to re-check my audio inputs and try it - i have on-board nvidia cx804 audio chip (uses snd-intel8x0 driver) 
and it has way too many connectors (at least 8) :]
