Hello!

Is anybody working on AVerMedia AverTV Hybrid Volar HX (A827) support?

Chips in this USB stick:

     * Cypress CY7C68013A
     * NXP SAA7136E
     * NXP TDA18271HDC1
     * Afatech AF9013-N1

I'm interested in TV/Analog input (not DVB-T), am I posting to the right list?

For know it is just for testing purposes. Feel free to test it.
Any feedback welcome.
Locking better with szap-s2 (sorry)

as we already have discussed on Russian forum - there's LOCK problem with high SR (sr=44958 dvb-s channels). But can somebody to test it with dvb-s2 8psk channels with sr=30000

I don't think so as Alex's patches are for demodulator (stb0899) but my was 
for tuner (stb6100). 

Regarding stb6100 doc the tuning procedure should be:
1. Disable PLL (LPEN_LPEN)
2. Set-up the tuner
3. Start PLL
4. Start VCO search
5. Wait for 5 ms
6. Disable VCO search, turn off VCO search clock and disable LPF BW clock

The steps 1-5 should be done in 5 steps (not less) and as I remeber I've got 
better result when inserting small delay between steps 1 and 2 and the delay 
from step 5 was set to 10ms. In stb6100.c are steps 1 and 2 done together 
within 1 write to stb6100 registers and this seems to be not optimal for some 
modulations.

that's why TT3200 owners have to try both patches together - from you and from Alex Betis ?
is it correct ?

Yes, I think so, but now I'm not able to test it as I don't have the TT 
S2-3200 more in my PC. If nobody will be able to test it I'll try to do it 
this weekend.

the attached patch (against http://mercurial.intuxication.org/hg/s2-liplianin)
adds S2API support for the STB0899+Mantis based cards such as the
Twinhan VP-1041 (also known as Azurewave AD SP400 or Technisat Skystar HD2)
 
Could you please add it to your s2-liplianin repository?

It includes Mantis PCI bridge, CU1216 and Fujitsu MB86A16 DVB-S/DSS DC Receiver support.

It is the same as the code from Manu Abraham's mantis tree at http://jusst.de/hg/mantis,
so thanks to Manu.

I tested with the Twinhan VP-1041.
Channel locking works for me for some (but not yet all) channels with Kaffeine (S2API patch).
Perhaps it will be better with your szap-s2 when I have time to test that.

Hi Goga,

no, but I was aware of Alex's patch and I just need to find the time to look into it.
The patch I sent does not change any stb0899 or stb6100 code in s2-liplianin, it just
adds the mantis code which was absent, so the stb0899/stb6100 pieces are no better
or worse than s2-liplianin.

Same with my s2-3200, so I marked the driver like experimental( I must say 
almost useless, as my favorite channel unwatchable) for now.
I quickly ported to S2 API + s2-3200 that code:

And it locks every channel (???), but stream appears broken, though I can see, 
that channel is right.
It is necessary to make driver stable, then to add anything.

The patch I sent doesn't change any stb0899 or stb6100 code of course -- it just
adds chip support which was absent -- so we should expect the same results I guess.

That's good news. 

By the way, there are differences between the mantis, cu1216 and mb86a16 code
at jusst.de and twinhan.com too.

Not so good but fixable I guess by comparing the two drivers.

I haven't had any time to look at this, I'm busy trying to cleanup and 
get S2API, MFE and general cleanups merged.

Igor, how has the feedback been for these patches? Are they ready for 
merge, working  only for some people, or badly broken and not for this 
kernel release?

That's right, my test also shows the no-locking or corrupted data issues on
8psk SR 30000 channels still exists on S2 API.

Anyway here is attached usb snoop log for A827.
I did not manage to find where is firmware loaded comparing with
logs in af9015_firmware_cutter.tar.gz
It seems the firmware is contained in EEPROM.

I did some USB-protocol reverse-engineering for Zdenek. I have also 
almost fully documented USB-sniff, I can send it to you if you want hack 
driver more. It should be rather easy to make working driver (DVB-T) 
from that log.

No its not. It loads firmware to af9013 from driver when stick is 
plugged. Correct firmware can be downloaded from: 
http://palosaari.fi/linux/v4l-dvb/firmware/af9013/

Your sniffs seems to be a little broken where firmware download was made.

You should hack cx88 driver for USB-bridge. There is some commands used 
in cx88 already.

Sorry about being not so active in this area :( - I've got busy with
some many other issue :( I've also fairly limited access to windows
machine - thus I would really need you 'chat/personal/ help Antti for
this - If you are willing to spend couple hours on this - I'd gladly
help - but for me the logic behind  V4L devices seems to be quite
complicated to get it learned within short time - i.e. I have no sharp
idea - how each sub controllers are connected together and how could I
achieve the similar USB command order.

If we could arrange some time window to work on this - I'll try to do
it - though it must be late night hours.

I have some spare time to do some work.
First step I need to make USBsnoop working to see where firmware upload goes.
Those logs I posted seem a little bit broken, right, because XP crashes and system reboots
when usbsnoop enabled. But anyway usbsnoop capture some data.

Antti, can you post a part of usbsnoop log where firmware is loaded?
