FULLACK. What's the problem to merge these drivers into mainline repo? It's not easy for new users to find the drivers. it will be more userfriendly to have them in main linux kernel!!! BR. I think the symbol rate is mandatory, but the FEC may found automatically. For example, I use vlc for the 2 different transponders: #EXTINF:0,orange #EXTVLCOPT:dvb-frequency=11512000 #EXTVLCOPT:dvb-srate=29947000 #EXTVLCOPT:dvb-voltage=13 dvb:// #EXTINF:0,france #EXTVLCOPT:dvb-frequency=11590000 #EXTVLCOPT:dvb-srate=20000000 #EXTVLCOPT:dvb-voltage=13 dvb:// The first transponder is FEC 7/8, and the second 2/3. For the other transponders (DVB-S2 / 8PSK), if use szap-s2 + dvbstream. -- Ken ar c'hentañ | ** Breizh ha Linux atav! ** Jef | http://moinejf.free.fr/ ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 18+ messages in thread

I'm not 100% sure but i think i tried it with S2API too, the last time i tried this card with S2API, Dominik's (creator of the driver) patch was more stable than the one in s2-liplianin which did'nt include all parts of the Dominik's patch i think because the patch changes stb0899 code. Here is the Dominik's original patch http://hem.passagen.se/faruks/3650/my_s2api_pctv452e.txt the patch changes couple of files compare it with the one on http://mercurial.intuxication.org/hg/s2-liplianin or http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb Faruk ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 18+ messages in thread

For DVB-S2, I must use 'szap-s2' to select the transponder and 'dvbstream' + 'vlc': dvbstream -o 8192 | vlc - -- Ken ar c'hentañ | ** Breizh ha Linux atav! ** Jef | http://moinejf.free.fr/ ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 18+ messages in thread

Otherwise, you must give dvbstream the frequency and the symbol rate of the transponder.
