I have a driver problem with two budget DVB cards - none of them works.
A TechnoTrend 1500, and a Hauppauge Nova S-Plus.
The Hauppauge card only shows up as /dev/video0, and there is no
directory /dev/dvb, though udev is running. The Technotrend card does
not show up as device at all.
I am using kubuntu 7.10 (linuxMCE), but after I found out that nothing
worked, I compiled and installed the latest I4L drivers - no difference.
> dmesg|grep dvb

don´t find anything in the file for the TechnoTrend card.

But it is trying to do something with the TechnoTrend card as well
(dmesg...)
[ 39.013102] saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
The Technotrend card I wanted to set up with "sudo modprobe dvb-ttpci" -
after that dmesg shows:

I even tried "sudo modprobe stv0299" which worked, but gave no
additional result.
Right now "lsmod|grep dvb" looks like this:
