I use the S2-3200 myself with the latest multiproto_plus revision
(compiled it yesterday) in combination with VDR 1.7.0 + HDTV patch. In
short, I don't have the problems you encounter with the Dutch HDTV
Channels.
Here's a snip from my channels.conf:

I know it works for a fact since I watch soccer on NL1 HD ;)
You did patch MythTV for usage with Multiproto, right? I read somewhere
that you need the SVN-sources of MythTV for getting it working.

Thats great news!
I did patch mythtv-0.21 with this patch:
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/5403
I don't have problems with the dvb-s2 channels from astra19,2 with mythtv.
However mythtv and even szap didn't tune to the transponder on astra 23.5
I have to go to a festival today so I will try multiproto_plus and vdr on sunday.
Do you know what the differece is betweed the normal multiproto and the plus version?
Thanks for your reply,
Joep Admiraal

I know the following (Swedish, but we all speak code!) guide seems to work:

If you do, be sure to follow this guide (it's for Ubuntu but you get the
information on how to get it working)
http://www.kipdola.com/skerit/?language=nl

It's a combine of multiproto and the mantis or v4l tree if I've got it
right. The last revisions of multiproto didn't seem to work for me (a lot
of lock problems on DVB-S2 transponders with H264 channles). I have to use
the revisions from March to get it working.

No problem at all.

Can you give me the exact version or date of the revision which you are using?
Just to be shure I do my tests on the same version as you are.

no, you are wrong
multiproto_plus combines the following repositories:
http://jusst.de/hg/multiproto
http://linuxtv.org/hg/~endriss/v4l-dvb-av7110-full-ts-mod

I am the one who put those guidelines in swedish together and can report that
they don't work at this moment since they changed the fec from 2/3 to 3/4 and
turned pilot of on the DVB-S2 channels with 8PSK modulation.
Niels, do you have any DVB-S2 channels with 8PSK modulation and fec 3/4 or
higher that you could try to get a lock on? Becuse the channels with QPSK
modulation all seem to work.

I have the hvr4000 card with vdr 170 + multiproto_Plus + hvr4000 patch from Gregoire and I don't have any reception problem
with dvb-s2 channels on Astar 19.2E The LOCK on dvb-s2 channels is very fast and stable.

Yes the hvr4000 seem to have no problems but it uses other onboardcomponents
(conexant) then the TT3200-S2 (STMicroelectronics), and the drivers for the
TT3200-S2 seem to have problems with it's drivers.

I used the current revision (I think it's 7725). The multiproto_plus tree
hasn't been updated for 2 months. I just did a normal pull of the current
tree and it worked beautifully with VDR.
Sometimes I do have strange lock problems. But I just switch to an other
transponder and back and the problem is gone.
BTW, since I have a Maxdata 4/1 DisEQC 2.0 switch, I enabled DISEQC and
used the following DISEQC config in diseqc.conf:
