Hello @all!

I have a Terratec Cinergy C with CI under Ubuntu 8.04 running vdr 1.6.
I use the newest mantis drivers from the mercury repository (83e2af36efe7).

<http://www.jusst.de/hg/mantis/rev/83e2af36efe7>With all free channels everything is running fine but if I insert my CAM into the CI when running vdr, the CAM init fails and even free programs are not viewable anymore.

The dmesg shows:

[ 86.389545] dvb_ca adapter 0: CAM tried to send a buffer larger than the link buffer size (49158 > 128)!
[ 86.491022] dvb_ca adapter 0: CAM tried to send a buffer larger than the ecount size!
[ 86.491027] dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM link initialisation failed :(

Any ideas or fixes for this problem?

Will be a verbose log of the mantis module more helpfull?

Bye
Clemens

This sounds very familiar. Due the fact that the dvb_ca_50221.c implementation
is the same in the mantis tree, you could be suffering from the same problem
I had. Just to be sure before I send you a patch to try: does it happen more
or less randomly or right after vdr is up and running? Could you please
provide some more informations about your system?

Thanks and have a nice sunday,
matthias.

You're welcome, but unfortunately you are suffering from a totally different
problem. I searched around a bit and found some "old" threads from June 08
with related problems... but no solution. :(

> there is no working CI/CAM support for the Mantis 2033/2040 chipset

No, actually I did not. :-) All I said is I had a brief look over the mantis
tree and spotted several known areas which area cicam related. From what I
had seen, I thought everything was already in place and concluded that you
might be suffering from a similar problem like I did for several month
because everything looked very familiar. But it seems like the cicam support
is rather new and still not quite ready.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help but I don't have a Mantis based card here
nor have I any experience with the Mantis tree. :-( Maybe someone else...?

Hope you get this fixed sooner rather than later... :-(

So long,
mathtias.

Yes, for the 2033 it is not working yet!.
And as said several times on this list, I'm waiting for it for a long
time already.
I wonder why Manu does not finish it. There are several people here
waiting for CiCam support.

It's not something that i am purposefully delaying it. I am also almost
at wits end. It is indeed a silly bug now, as almost everything is done
for the "basic CI-CAM" support on the Mantis. The vendor is also helping
out, by taking a look at the issue, but as said sometimes silly bugs are
hard to find.

Regards,
Manu

Hi Manu,

thanks for the info about the status in develeopment, it's the first
answer I was able to get from "official" sources :)

Can you give us some updates if you get feedback from the vendor please?

Is there something I can do to support you in finding the problem?

Bye
Clemens
