Pinnacle HDTV Ultimate USB and SAA7136

Hello,

I found some posts from december last year about work on Pinnacle HDTV 
Ultimate USB being in progress and about SAA7136 documentation. I'm 
interested in getting analog tuner of AverTV Hybrid Volar HX (A827) to 
work under Linux. It also uses SAA7136 part. There were some posts about 
this AverTV card on linix-dvb, but I suppose nobody is currently working 
on it (especially the analog part). I would appreciate any info on the 
progress of work on the driver for SAA7136.

Hello Kuba,

I have the full documentation for the saa7136 and have been actively
working on the driver for the last couple of weeks.  I have the
S-Video and CVBS working, and am now working on the audio support and
the digital IF support required for the tuner.

I hope to release something in the next couple of weeks.

Hello Erik,

The Pinnacle Ultimate work stalled for a couple of reasons:

1.  The product appears to have been discontinued
2.  NDA issues with Broadcom
3.  I spent the last month doing analog support for the HVR-950q.

I'm hoping to soon get back to the saa7136 in the next few weeks and
at least provide the analog support for the 880e.

Please don't let this be a hinderance - I just picked one of these up 
cheap through buy.com - more than willing to test out anything that needs 
to be tested out.  I've got 32-bit and AMD64 architectures available to 
use it with.

Understand there are issues with the NDA as well, and I hope that those 
can be resolved.

Has there been any progress on this?  I may soon reach the point where
I just need to buy something new that is compatible, but I don't want
to do this if its likely that some support will be achieved soon...
