The basic driver framework is done. Firmware is loading, I can
talking to the silicon through the proprietary PCIe ring buffer
interface. I2C is working, eeprom and tuner/demod access is done.
The HVR2250 is responding to azap commands, the tuners and demods
are locking, snr looks pretty good... it's going to be a popular
board for people. The HVR2200 (DVB-T Version) should also worked
with tzap, it's untested and I can't comment on SNR at this stage. I
need to add the DMA/buffering code, this is the missing pieces
before a first public release. When I have anything to share I'll
put up a tree and post a 'testers required' message here.

We're a couple episodes into this fall television season and I'm missing
my shows. ;)

Having another month down, I wanted to send a friendly nudge your
direction, Steve, to see how this is progressing.

:)

I hear you!

Nothing to report lately. The S2API and the Plumbers conf took a lot of
my time, I'm only now getting back into a regular linux schedule.

Feel free to ping me through this mailing list every few weeks.

Hi!

I'm going to go ahead and feel free to ask if you have made any progress
with the HVR2200? :)

So, ping...

The HVR2200 would be perfect for my mythtv box - if it had a working
driver.

If possible I'd like to know:
- current status of DVB
- Analogue?
- remote control?
- Is there a repository somewhere?
- Can I help? I'm perfectly fluent in C and have done a little hardware
stuff before.

I would also be more than interested in a working driver for the HRV2200
and would gladly contribute to a revival of this project. As I my C skills
are not worth mentioning all I can offer is some testing and reporting.

Steve,

Do you know if Hauppauge are willing/able to dish out the
hardware/programming specifications for these cards?

I understand that you're busy with other things, but it seems that there are
a lot of people waiting on support for these cards, and by the sound of it
there are at least a few who have enough experience and/or time to have a
good run at getting something going..

I don't want to sound ungrateful, as I (and many others) appreciate the
amount of time and effort that you put into these things but I also
appreciate that there's only so much time in the day that you can spend on
driver development, and I think that you should at least acknowledge people
who are willing and able to help (eg. Davin), rather than just coming back
with 'no progress'...

If there are problems organising things like NDA's etc or if Hauppauge don't
want to share information then that's fine - I guess we'll just have to
wait... but if there is any way of letting someone else have a go, then all
I would ask is that you please consider letting them take some of the burden
off your shoulders.

Regards,
Dave.

David, you're not the first to ask and I doubt you'll be the last.

No, sorry, this isn't something Hauppauge can dish out. When I have time I'll
get back to it. Until then the status is the same 'no progress'. It's not an
itch that I need to scratch right now.

What the status changes these lists will be the first to know.
