Hi,
I also followed this post to get streams from the EC168:
https://www.dealextreme.com/forums/Default.dx/sku.8325~threadid.278942
However my card is a MinTv usb 2.0 dvb-t DUTV002, which seems to be
using a MT2060 tuner. Some channels where partially received. Let me
know if you have any idea of how i could solve this.
Regards,
Tony

Partially received? If there is really MT2060 tuner then channels should
not be received at all.
> know if you have any idea of how i could solve this.
I can look usb-sniffs if you will take.
http://www.pcausa.com/Utilities/UsbSnoop/default.htm
One sec sniff to channel where it lock is enough, log size will increase
very rapidly when streaming picture...
One big problem to make this device really working is lack of specs... I
am very interested if someone could help getting specs.

Antti

I checked again and i am getting a couple of dtv channels and some more
radio channels, and they display/sound pretty well.
I'm sure that the card model is the one I previously mentioned, the
output from lsusb is:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 18b4:1001
> I can look usb-sniffs if you will take.

I didn't find usbsnoop for linux, so I used usbmon. Here is a sample:

Then the tuner must be MXL5003S because it is only tuner ec168 Linux
driver supports currently.

Linux usb-sniff is useless. But no need for Windows sniffs because your
device is not mt2060 one. If someone have ec168 with mt2060 tuner then
Windows sniffs are welcome.

Hi,
I opened de device and it is definitely an EC168 and a MXL5003s, also to
my surprise on the chipset it is written DUTV007 instead of DUTV002,
which was the model number that was written in the package.
However when scanning I get errors and only finds about a third of
available services at best.

Hi,
I found that my card isn't locking on certain frequencies,Could it be a
problem of signal strength? In widows it gets all channels though.

Your signal strength is not enough. I think Linux mxl5005s tuner driver
does not have as good performance as Windows. You can try to change some
tuner parameters (in ec168.c file) to see if you will found some more
sensitivity.

I think this register contains demodulator lock bits. When it is 0cf6
demod is fully locked. No lock here...

I should add one ms sleep to avoid this.

Hi,
I made a change on the tuner parameters and it worked perfectly.
This is the change, on ec168.c, line 245:
.cap_select = MXL_CAP_SEL_DISABLE,
So if anyone has a MinTV usb 2.0 DUTV007 dvb-t card an it is not tuning
properly, changing MXL_CAP_SEL_ENABLE to MXL_CAP_SEL_DISABLE could be a
workaround.
Thanks for the help!
Tony Higuchi.

Hello,
would it be possible to extend EC168 driver to support a device with usb ID 0458:400f (EC168 + MT2061F)?It is a USB DVB-T tuner "Genius TVGo DVB-T02PRO", for details see the link: https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/E3C_EC168#Genius_TVGo_DVB-T02Q_MCE
Device Identifications:USB-ID: 0458:400fDVB-T demodulator & USB controller: EC168;Tuner: MT2061F (I suppose it should work with MT2060 driver);
Let me know if i can be of any more help like testing, capture log output, dump, ...
Regards,
Filip
