Hello,
Actually, I am trying to use the analog composite input (not cable
television) working. Is this part of analog support? Or is that for
analog cable only?
When I hook a video source up to the composite RCA jack and "mplayer
/dev/video" it presents the following:
MPlayer dev-SVN-r26753-4.1.2 (C) 2000-2008 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.20GHz (Family: 6, Model: 13,
Stepping: 8)
CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 1
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE SSE2
Playing /dev/video.
It just sits there. Typing "cat /dev/video" does not produce any output.
Linux aqui 2.6.29.2. I am running hvr950q-analog-1bbabf78f9ef
(downloaded a couple days ago).
From log output everything seems good:

Hello John,
That's not really how v4l2 capture works, in particular with devices
that do not provide an mpeg stream (you cannot just run "mplayer
/dev/video0"). You're not actually doing any sort of input selection,
so how are you expecting the driver to know to capture on the
composite input?
I would suggest you give the man page for mplayer a read, in
particular the options related to driver=v4l2. If you still have
questions, email the ML.
Cheers,
Devin
