w_scan works? At least for me.

I looked frontend code and I do not see where that error is coming.
Maybe there is no such file at all?

"/adapter_290e/" something unusual.

I am using Fedora 16 and latest development Kernel. VLC, czap, w_scan, 
etc. are working fine.
