Hi,
Since a few weeks, I am unable to use my TerraTec Cinergy T PCIe dual
card anymore. On the kernel and drivers side, everything seems to be
working as expected but I get no signal from any channel.
It used to work and I have done too many updates recently to be able
to pinpoint to from which point it stopped to work.
Plugging the same cable to my TV tuner I get perfect reception so no
change in signal quality.
I am running Arch Linux with linux 3.7.1 on an x86_64 architecture.
Following are some logs.
Kernel logs when loading cx23885 module:

I could guess these errors are coming because you query statistics but
device is sleeping and statistics cannot be offered. -EAGAIN == device
is sleeping, -ENOTTY device does not support given statistic at all.
Could you ensure that? Use some app, like w_scan, tzap, czap, etc. to
tune and recheck if it shows these or not. femon could not tune, it
queries only statistics. You will need to leave tuning on and then use
other terminal for femon.

hmm, that dvbscan results sounds crazy. I am not sure about these
scanning apps as there is scan, dvbscan, scandvb. Maybe some of those,
or even all, are just same app but renamed as "scan" is too general. My
Fedora 17 has scandvb. I just tested against one DRX-K device and it
worked fine.

Try to downgrade Kernels until you find working one.

You were right. Now I get this while running w_scan in another terminal:
###
status SCV | signal 5% | snr 0% | ber 0 | unc 0 |
status SCV | signal 5% | snr 0% | ber 0 | unc 0 |
status SCV | signal 5% | snr 0% | ber 0 | unc 0 |
[...]
###
This is coherent with the "no signal" result.

According to the wiki [1] scandvb is a distro-side renaming of dvbscan.

Guess it is probably the only way. I will try.

Seeing other message about a problem with the same card, made me think
I forgot to post my conclusion.
I downgraded to 3.6.5 which was a working one at the time I got the
card and the problem is the same. The problem is thus elsewhere (maybe
hardware related but it is difficult to me to test the card in another
computer).

Hi,
Sinse a couple of months I'm trying to get my second DVB-C card to
work, but with no luck.
I have searched a lot around and even tried the last media_build.
I am running linux 3.5.0-26-generic with the latests media_build from
here (http://git.linuxtv.org/media_build.git)
For some reason the card won't get a lock. Here are my test results:

I have the same card and while I don't see anything wrong (you have 2
dvb-t devices installed right? adapter0 is something else, and the
Cinergy is adapter1 and adapter2? Ah, yes you do say 'other dvb-c' sorry.

Remember to set the frontend properly; dvb-fe-tool from memory (tab
completion ftw). And remember the cinergy is dual dvb-t; but only single
dvb-c (and single analog, but i think that is still not implemented?)

I watch via DVB-T so I always have to set that to my second tuner (to
have dual tuner possibility).
dvb-fe-tool -a 0 -d DVB-T
dvb-fe-tool -a 1 -d DVB-T
for adapter 0 and 1.
In your case however, you do not use DVB-T. The first tuner thus is
useless (It can only function as Analog tuner, but I have no idea what
the status for that is atm), I can't 'choose' it as delivery system.
As for adapter 1, You can swap between DVBT, DVBC/ANNEX_A and
DVBC/ANNEX_C. So that's DVBT and DVBC, but two flavors. I don't know
what it means, but you can try switching between those two?
dvb-fe-tool -a 1 -d DVBC/ANNEX_C
Give it a shot :)

Hi,
Thanks for your reply,
Do you only use DVB-T, or also DVB-C? Because it looks to me that
DVB-C isn't implemented, or at least giving me a lot of errors?
I use the correct front-end of adapter2 (as you can see in the log:
DELIVERY_SYSTEM = DVBC/ANNEX_A)
adapter1 is only DVB-T
What do you meen by: "Remember to set the frontend properly;
dvb-fe-tool from memory"??
To set the delevery system to DVB-C before running the dvbv5-scan??

Yes but from what I remember, DVB-C is the default.
Anyway the flag from dvb-fe-tool to use is --set-delsys=DVB-C in your case.
