It doesn't have to be freevo specific, but I am running Arch Linux  64= bit.

I have found out after searching that the infra red receiver is at /dev/inp= ut/event6

However, I have no idea how to use lirc or how to set up lirc.d or lircrc a= nd cannot find anything which works for my setup.
I need to write or create a lircrc file for use in Freevo.

Apparently the remote is a linux input layer or something which is why I ca= n use the arrow keys and the numeric keys in anything that I am typing for = example 12345689 was written by the remote control.

There is a lot of stuff on the web about lirc but nothing very complete esp= ecially for the compro remote (which has been out now for probably four yea= rs)...
